Why ship LCL China–Taiwan with TENCO

Kaohsiung is the gateway written on the quote

China-to-Taiwan LCL on this page is quoted to Kaohsiung first. Kaohsiung is the primary gateway, and the quote default is Shenzhen to Kaohsiung, TW. Taichung is the second gateway when the final delivery area fits central Taiwan. Keelung is the third gateway when the final delivery area is in the north. Share that delivery area and we confirm which of the three belongs on the quote, then plan destination CFS release. A warehouse or inland handoff is included only when it is part of the booking.

One weekly sailing, one gateway

Each weekly LCL is planned to one Taiwan gateway—Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung—not split between them. Kaohsiung fits a southern delivery area. Taichung fits a central delivery area. Keelung fits a northern delivery area. They are separate destination handoffs. The quote names Kaohsiung unless a different gateway is confirmed from the delivery area.

Supplier cargo closed before a short cutoff

Importers receiving in Taiwan often buy from several China factories. We receive and measure that cargo at CFS near Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Ningbo, then load it as one weekly LCL to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung with one export document set. The planning window is 3–7 days, so the group has to be closed before the sailing cutoff.

Export documents before departure, broker after arrival

Commercial invoices, packing lists, and China export declarations are checked across suppliers before the vessel leaves. Destination CFS release is coordinated at the confirmed gateway. A warehouse or inland handoff can follow arrival. Destination import clearance stays with the importer or a licensed customs broker. TENCO is a freight forwarder and does not file those import entries.

When LCL Makes Sense

Choose China-to-Taiwan LCL when commercial cargo is typically 1–15 CBM from one or more suppliers and a full container to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung is not justified—port-to-port, or with a warehouse handoff after destination CFS release.

Kaohsiung receivers

Regular LCL from South China and East China into Kaohsiung, the primary gateway and the quote default on this lane.

Taichung receivers

A central Taiwan delivery area that fits Taichung, the second gateway. We confirm the gateway from the delivery area on the quote.

Keelung receivers

A northern delivery area that fits Keelung, the third gateway. We confirm the gateway from the delivery area on the quote.

Multi-supplier Taiwan cargo

Combine cargo from several China factories into one weekly LCL to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung, with one export document set before the short sailing cutoff.

First shipments to Taiwan

China export document checks before departure, then a handoff to your licensed customs broker for destination import clearance. TENCO does not file those entries.

China to Taiwan LCL — How It Works

From supplier cargo in China to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung—consolidation, export document checks, and LCL ocean freight managed by one LCL-focused forwarder.

01

Request a Quote

Share origin city, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Keelung, or the delivery area, plus weight and CBM. The quote default is Shenzhen to Kaohsiung, TW. We respond within one business day with shipment-specific LCL pricing and sailing options.

02

Pickup & Consolidation

Supplier cargo is received at our consolidation warehouse/CFS near Shenzhen, Shanghai, or Ningbo, measured, and grouped for the next weekly sailing to the confirmed Taiwan gateway.

03

Export & Ocean Freight

China export declaration, documentation checks before the short cutoff, and weekly LCL ocean freight to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung. Plan on 3–7 days port-to-port. That range is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed transit time.

04

Taiwan destination handling

Destination CFS deconsolidation at the confirmed gateway, coordination with your customs broker or a destination agent, and optional warehouse or inland delivery after arrival. Import clearance remains with the importer or a licensed customs broker.

Case Studies

Electronic ComponentsTaiwan-bound components buyerShenzhen → Kaohsiung

Challenge

Electronic components from several Guangdong factories were ready on different days, and the southern receiver needed one Kaohsiung CFS release on the same weekly sailing.

Solution

TENCO received the supplier cargo at the Shenzhen CFS, grouped it into one weekly LCL to Kaohsiung, and aligned the export documents for that primary gateway.

Packaging MaterialsTaiwan-bound packaging buyerNingbo → Taichung

Challenge

East China packaging materials were too small for a full container, and the final delivery area was in central Taiwan, so Taichung fit better than Kaohsiung or Keelung. The commercial documents still had to match before the vessel left China.

Solution

Ningbo consolidation moved as a weekly LCL to Taichung. Export invoices and packing lists were aligned before departure so the importer’s broker could work from one set after Taichung CFS release.

Challenge

Shanghai industrial hardware needed a Keelung CFS release and a planned warehouse intake, while import clearance stayed with the importer’s broker.

Solution

TENCO arranged Shanghai CFS intake, aligned the commercial documents, coordinated the Keelung CFS release, and set the warehouse handoff after arrival. Import clearance stayed with the importer’s broker.

China to Taiwan LCL — FAQ

How long does LCL shipping from China to Taiwan take?

Plan on 3–7 days port-to-port to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung, depending on the China origin, sailing, and any transshipment. Destination CFS release, customs inspection, and a warehouse or inland handoff are additional. Planning estimates only—not a guaranteed transit time.

Should Taiwan cargo use Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung?

Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Keelung are the three Taiwan gateways on this lane. Kaohsiung is the primary gateway and the quote default from Shenzhen to Kaohsiung, TW. Taichung is the second gateway when the final delivery area fits central Taiwan. Keelung is the third gateway when the final delivery area is in the north. A shipment is planned to one gateway, because the three ports are separate destination handoffs. Tell us the delivery area and we confirm which gateway, and whether a warehouse or inland handoff after arrival is part of the quote. We do not assign a gateway from the area name alone.

Can TENCO consolidate several China suppliers into one Taiwan shipment?

Yes. We receive cargo from multiple factories at our China CFS, measure and group it for one weekly LCL to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung, and align the export documents so the Taiwan-bound importer receives a single shipment at the confirmed gateway.

When is LCL a better fit than FCL for commercial cargo bound for Taiwan?

LCL fits smaller or multi-supplier commercial cargo—often under about 15 CBM—when a full container to Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung is not justified. FCL is usually better for higher, steady volumes into one Taiwan gateway, south or north. We compare chargeable volume, destination charges, sailing options, and urgency before recommending either mode.

What documents should be ready before LCL leaves China for Taiwan?

Typical China export documents include a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading instructions, and export customs declaration. Certificates apply when the product requires them. These should be consistent across suppliers before a Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung sailing. Destination import filings are arranged by the importer or a licensed customs broker. TENCO does not file those entries.

See the China export documentation checklist.

How are Taiwan CFS release, warehouse coordination, and customs broker handoff handled?

Destination CFS deconsolidation is coordinated at the confirmed gateway: Kaohsiung first, Taichung when that central gateway is on the quote, or Keelung when the northern gateway is the one on the quote. A warehouse or inland handoff can be quoted with the sailing. Destination import clearance is the responsibility of the importer and/or a licensed customs broker. TENCO can share shipping data and work with your broker or a destination agent. We are not a licensed customs broker and do not file destination import entries.
